Community, Safeguarding & Site Conduct
Unearthed Festival is a family-friendly event that celebrates creativity, community, wellbeing, self-expression and mutual respect. By attending the festival, all ticket holders agree to contribute positively to the atmosphere of the event and to respect fellow attendees, crew, artists, volunteers and local residents.
Respect for Others
Everyone attending Unearthed Festival has the right to enjoy the event free from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, abuse or unwanted attention.
Unearthed Festival operates a zero-tolerance approach to:
Harassment or bullying
Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or discriminatory behaviour
Aggressive, threatening or abusive conduct
Unwanted physical contact
Sexual harassment or sexual misconduct
Behaviour that causes alarm, distress or fear to others
Festival management reserves the right to remove any person whose behaviour is considered unsafe, inappropriate or inconsistent with the values of the festival. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
Children & Young People
Unearthed Festival welcomes families and young people.
All attendees under the age of 18 must be registered with and accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. The nominated adult accepts responsibility for the welfare, supervision and behaviour of the child or young person throughout the duration of the festival.
Children must not be left unsupervised at any time.
Festival staff, welfare teams and safeguarding personnel reserve the right to intervene where concerns arise regarding the safety or wellbeing of a child or vulnerable person.
Alcohol & Substance Use
Unearthed Festival promotes a welfare-first approach to safety.
Alcohol may only be purchased by attendees aged 18 and over who can provide valid proof of age when requested. Challenge 25 operates across all festival bars.
The supply of alcohol to persons under the age of 18 is prohibited.
Any concerns relating to underage drinking, substance misuse or welfare will be referred to the Festival Welfare and Safeguarding Teams and may result in removal from site.
Nudity Policy
Unearthed Festival recognises that for some members of our community, non-sexual social nudity is a natural form of self-expression.
Respectful, non-sexual adult nudity is permitted within designated festival areas after 10:00pm.

Family Camping Areas
Accessible Camping Areas
Car Parks and Arrival Areas
The Kids' Zone and surrounding areas
Welfare and Medical Areas
Festival Offices and Operational Areas
Nudity must remain non-sexual at all times.
Any sexual activity, sexualised behaviour, harassment, inappropriate conduct or behaviour likely to cause alarm, distress or discomfort to others may result in immediate removal from the festival.
Festival management reserves the right to request that attendees dress appropriately in specific locations or circumstances.
Photography & Consent
Attendees are expected to respect the privacy of others.
Photography and filming of individuals should only take place with their knowledge and consent.
Particular care should be taken when photographing children, vulnerable people, welfare spaces, sauna areas or attendees choosing to be nude.
Any photography or filming deemed intrusive, inappropriate or exploitative may result in removal from the festival.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome at Unearthed Festival only where a valid dog ticket has been purchased in advance.
Dog owners remain fully responsible for the behaviour, welfare and control of their dogs at all times.
Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead where requested by festival management.
Festival management reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove, any dog that presents a welfare, safety or nuisance concern.
Welfare & Community Responsibility
We encourage everyone attending Unearthed Festival to be a buddy, not a bystander.
If something does not feel right, or if someone appears vulnerable, distressed or in need of support, please contact a member of the Welfare Team, Safeguarding Team, Festival Staff or Security.
Looking after each other is part of what makes Unearthed special.
Right of Refusal
Festival management reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any attendee, without refund, whose behaviour is considered unsafe, unlawful or contrary to these Terms & Conditions.
Drugs, Medication & Prohibited Items
Drugs & Illegal Substances
Unearthed Festival operates a zero-tolerance policy regarding the possession, supply or sale of illegal drugs, including Nitrous Oxide and any substances prohibited under current UK legislation.
The safety and wellbeing of our attendees, crew, artists and volunteers is our priority. Any person found in possession of, supplying, or engaging in activities involving illegal substances may be refused entry, removed from site without refund and/or reported to the police.
Festival management reserves the right to conduct security searches at entry points, within the festival site or upon departure where there are reasonable grounds to do so.
Security personnel are authorised to search bags, vehicles, clothing and possessions. Intimate body searches may only be carried out by the police.
Failure to cooperate with a reasonable search request may result in refusal of entry or removal from the festival.
Where provided, amnesty bins are available at festival entry points for the disposal of prohibited items before entering the event.
Welfare & Harm Reduction
Whilst Unearthed Festival does not permit illegal drugs on site, we recognise that welfare concerns should always take priority.
Anyone experiencing a medical emergency or welfare concern relating to alcohol, drugs or any other substance should seek assistance immediately from the Welfare Team, Medical Team, Security or Festival Staff.
Attendees seeking emergency medical assistance for themselves or another person will always be encouraged to prioritise safety and wellbeing.
Prescription Medication
Prescription medication is permitted on site where it is:
Required by the attendee for personal use.
Carried in its original packaging.
Clearly labelled with the attendee's name.
Supported by a prescription, doctor's letter or other appropriate medical documentation where possible.
Festival management reserves the right to request evidence that medication has been lawfully prescribed.
Attendees are advised to bring only the quantity required for the duration of the festival.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not permitted on site:
Illegal drugs and controlled substances.
Nitrous Oxide and related equipment.
Weapons or items that may reasonably be used as weapons, including knives.
Fireworks, explosives, flares and pyrotechnics.
Floating sky lanterns.
Drones or other unauthorised airborne devices.
Lasers.
Generators without prior written approval.
Sound systems, PA equipment or amplified music systems without prior written approval.
Gas bottles exceeding 2.75kg without prior written approval.
Glass bottles, jars or containers.
Body piercing or tattoo equipment.
Items intended for sale without prior written agreement from Unearthed Festival.
Counterfeit or unauthorised merchandise using Unearthed Festival branding.
Any item deemed by festival management to present a safety, welfare or operational risk.
Small portable speakers may be permitted at the discretion of festival management. Where their use causes disruption or disturbance, attendees may be asked to switch them off or remove them from use.
Confiscated Items
Any prohibited item may be confiscated by festival management, security personnel or authorised staff.
Confiscated items may be destroyed, disposed of or surrendered to the police where appropriate. Unearthed Festival cannot guarantee the return of confiscated items after the event.
Festival management reserves the right to make final decisions regarding prohibited items, site safety and attendee welfare.
